Class Teacher
Marks the register
Their own stream's registers, morning and afternoon.
- Mark, confirm and close the register
- Follow up absences in their class
- A reminder at 09:30 if the register is still open
Why this module
Filling in the register is the easy part. The problem is everything after it: adding up the numbers, telling the parent, and remembering to ask why.
Sheets sit in a drawer, so today's school-wide picture takes a morning to build.
A guardian hears about an absence days later, if at all.
Why a student was away lives in someone's memory, not on their record.
What you can do
Class teachers mark, the office follows up, and guardians stay informed, without anyone copying numbers between books.
Every stream gets a morning and an afternoon register on school days, generated for you, alongside registers for teachers and staff.
Mark the class in a few taps.Mark All Present, then change the exceptions: late, absent, early leave or activity leave.
The teacher signs it off.Confirming records who confirmed it and when. Closing locks it and produces a PDF register sheet.
Unfinished registers get a nudge.A class teacher whose register is still open at 09:30 gets a reminder.
Marking a student absent or late notifies their guardians the moment it's saved, by SMS and email unless you choose otherwise.
Messages go to contacts you already hold.Guardian numbers come from the student record, so nobody keeps a separate phone list.
Arrival and departure texts, if you want them.Turn on check-in and check-out SMS and guardians hear when their child arrives and leaves.
Activity leave stays quiet.A student away at a fixture or on a trip is marked activity leave: no alert, no follow-up.
Absent, late and early-leave marks open a follow-up on their own, so nothing depends on someone remembering to ask.
Record the reason and the evidence.Note what the guardian said and attach a medical note or permission letter.
One note for a whole group.A broken-down bus or a flu outbreak? Resolve every affected follow-up at once.
Nothing is lost.Resolved follow-ups stay on the record, with who resolved them and when.
Every student, teacher and staff member has an attendance history, and the reports add it up for you.
A term at a glance. The profile heatmap shows every school day coloured by status, with the full history below.
Reports in PDF or Excel.Class attendance by stream, staff and teacher attendance, and absenteeism for any date range.
Guardians see the same record.Their read-only view shows their child's attendance history and the status of any follow-up.

Attendance Management FAQs
What schools ask about Attendance Management before they switch.
No. Registers are generated for every stream at the start of each weekday session in an active term. For a weekend event or a newly added stream, a register can be created by hand.
When a student is marked absent or late, their guardians are notified straight away. By default that's an SMS, an email and an in-app notification, and the school can change which channels each notification uses.
An optional SMS telling guardians their child has arrived at school, from the morning register, or has left, from the afternoon register. You choose it when you sign up, and it's priced per student.
Yes. There is a school-wide teachers register and a staff register every session, and leadership is notified when a member of staff is marked absent.
Rows stay editable until the register is closed. A closed register can be reopened, corrected and confirmed again.
No. Guardians see their child's attendance read-only. To explain an absence they contact the school, and staff record the reason on the follow-up.
